The North Cave Flood Warden is appointed by and reports to the Parish Council. He represents the Council at any meetings organised by the Environment Agency (EA) or East Riding of Yorkshire Council as well as any voluntary group associated with flood prevention.
The Flood Warden is the main point of contact for both the EA and EYRC during time of flooding as well liaising with residents.

West Wolds Slow the Flow (WWSTF) is made up by a group of people who intend trying to reduce flooding in the West Wolds Villages and surrounding areas using nature-based solutions. Geographically they are covering the parishes of Newbald, Hotham, North Cave, South Cave, Ellerker and Brantingham, which roughly corresponds with the Mill Beck catchment. They are local people working in partnership with Parishes, Parish and Ward Councillors and officers of Flood Risk Agencies.
The North Cave Parish Council supports the efforts being made by the WWSTF working group and have therefore appointed a representative on to this as flooding is a very big issue in North Cave and Everthorpe and we wish them every success in their endeavours.
